Manufacturer-Info

The company started in November 1973 with their first model, the Mercedes Benz 540K, for "Danhausen" Aachen in Germany, better known now as "Minichamps". Many more models were produced for them over the following 10 years, as well as Western's own comprehensive range. During the 1970's and 80's a strong link was forged with many F1 Teams and models were produced in lots of different scales from 1:87 through to l:4 original size. Later they started a new range of Aircraft in 1:200 scale and represented 50% of Western Models production. Over the last 10 years a large range has been established. So today, they concentrate solely on aircraft models.

Model-Info

These 96 Rally models are the same casting like the earlier made "Grand Prix Models". The "283" is an exact copy of the GPM, even the same printing on base, but without the wooden plinth. The lighter red with Rally equipment, but without any decal is probably a Prototype/pre-serial model of a limited run (30), which was never realized. Does anybody know more about?

Special / Limited Edition

The red "303" has already "Small Wheels Saab 96" on base and was made in a limited edition of only 100 units for "Minicar 43" Norway in 1995.
