Manufacturer-Info The Corgi brand was created by the "Mettoy Company" of Northampton which first started pressed metal toys in the 1930s. The first Corgi models appeared in 1956 and covered British-built saloon cars of the period. During the years, they produced toycars, like the Saab 9000 and also collector-models, like the Saab 96. Vanguards is one serial in the large range of "Corgi Toys". Model-InfoThis 96 Sport is a revised "Corgi Classics" model from the Nineties. The first one, red coloured, came in the Corgi Saloon Cars Serial. The second 96, beige coloured, was launched in 2002 and made in a limited run of 5000 items. It came together with separate side-mirrors and a decal-sheet with 6 different number-plates. The third edition had no extra parts. The white one was also made in a limited run of 3000 items. Special / Limited EditionA special model was created for the Saab Club Holland for their 45-years jubilee in 2004. Only 50 items were made. |
