Minichamps is a die-cast car producer founded as "Paul's Model Art GmbH" in 1990 in Germany. The excellent quality has been appreciated not only by car manufacturers, many of whom, like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche and BMW, have entrusted Minichamps with the production of official car replicas, but also by model car collectors. In 1996 they started to make Saabs in 1:43.

Both models were sold only in the "Saab Model Car-Collection" through Saab-dealers. Especially a perfect detailed model is this 1996 Talladega Challenge Recordcar.
