Manufacturer-Info The Corgi brand was created by the Mettoy Company of Northampton which first started with pressed metal toys in the 1930s. The first Corgi models appeared in 1956 and covered British-built saloon cars of the period. During the years, they produced toycars, like the Saab 9000 and also collector-models, like the Saab 96. Model-InfoThe first 1990 launched models had no mirrors, painted trunk-handles and black wheels. Special / Limited EditionA very special model is this red RAC "178" 96. It was made for Dorset Diecast Models GB in a very limited run. The plans were 250 pieces, but it seems that only 120 numbered models were finished. |
