Manufacturer-Info Tekno Dansk Legetojs Industri is a toy maker from Denmark that began manufacturing construction toys in 1928, and model cars after World War II. They were selling 1 million a year during its peak. While they started as a toy company, the focus later shifted to adult collectibles and promotional models. In 1950 “Svenska Tekno AB†was founded in Malmö. The aim was to launch Tekno in Sweden as well. It became a success, the production of Swedish cars was enormous. But then in 1969, the founder Mr. A. Siegumfeldt died. Big financial problems meant the end for Tekno Denmark in 1972. The trademark together with most of the machinery and tools were sold and continued as Tekno Toys in the Netherlands. Until 1974 they still made cars like the Saab 99. But then, one of the first decisions of the Dutch management of Tekno Toys was to specialize in the production of model trucks. A wise decision, Tekno Toys became very popular again. Model-InfoThese 96 models with different wheels were sold in Norway under “KIRK†marketing name in blister-packs with removed TEKNO-name on base-plate. Detail-InfoVery simple detailed interior with seats and steering-wheel in several colours / only ‘diamond’ headlights / "SAAB 96 827" "Denmark" on base-plate. |
